How to Train Your AI Assistant with Custom Knowledge
Upload and manage custom data to make your ReComAI chatbot smarter and more relevant
In ReComAI, you can easily train your AI assistant using different knowledge sources like FAQs, website links, or custom documents.
This helps your chatbot respond more accurately and contextually to user queries based on your brand and data.
Step 1: Go to AI Training Section
From the left sidebar, go to Knowledge Base → AI Training.
This will open the Knowledge Sources panel, where you can upload or manage your training files.
Step 2: Add New Knowledge
Click on the + Add Knowledge button at the top right corner.

A popup (modal) will appear where you can add your training data.
This opens a modal to add your training data.
Step 3: Choose Knowledge Type
Use the Category dropdown to choose the type of data you want to upload:
FAQs – Upload frequently asked questions.
Custom Data Files – Upload PDFs, Docs, or other training files.
Fetched Links / Manual Links – Add URLs for the bot to crawl and extract content.
Texts – Manually enter information or Q&A.
Website – Point the bot to a site for smart learning.

Step 4: Upload the File or Content
Enter a File Name , and drag & drop your file, or click to select from your device.
Supported formats: .pdf, .docx, .txt, etc.
Once uploaded, click Add to save the knowledge.
Step 5: Train the Knowledge File
After adding the file, it will appear in the knowledge list.
Locate your uploaded file
Click the Train button on the right side of the file
The system will now process and train the content.
Once training is completed, the knowledge will be ready to use with your chatbot.

Step 6: Connect Knowledge to Your Chatbot
Now you need to attach the trained knowledge to your chatbot.
Go to the Chatbots section from the left sidebar
Select your chatbot
Open the Data Source tab from the top menu

Step 7: Add Knowledge to the Chatbot
Click the Add Knowledge button on the right side

A selection panel will open
You will see the file you trained earlier
Select the file
Click the Add Knowledge button at the bottom

The selected knowledge source will now be connected to your chatbot.
Step 8: Save Changes
After adding the knowledge:
Click the Update button on the right side
Save your changes

Your chatbot will now start answering questions using the uploaded documents and training data.
Result
Once setup is completed:
Your AI assistant can answer questions using your uploaded files
The chatbot responds using your business-specific knowledge
Customers receive more accurate and relevant replies
Important Notes
Files must be trained before adding them to a chatbot
You can attach multiple knowledge sources to one chatbot
You can update or remove knowledge anytime
Large files may take a few moments to complete training
